Wellness Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities
A wellness specialist is someone who come up with ideas and ways to improve one’s well being and health. Programs are designed to help out people and other issues running through the community. Basically a wellness specialist is someone who educates people and inform them with ways to live a healthy life. Health is really important to last a long life, and with a wellness specialist they can inform people with certain food diets, ways of coping, and other forms of helping one’s well being. Some clients are living an unhealthy lifestyle. Some people are overweight, depressed, or can’t stop a bad habit. Little by little, a wellness specialist can inform them on what to do. Losing weight is hard, smoking is hard to quit, and it is hard to cope difficult situations depending on the person. With a wellness specialist many things can change, and those habits will all be gone. Their goal is to spread awareness, and promote healthy lifestyles. Some wellness specialists work through a 9-to-5 schedule.

Salary
An average wellness specialist can see a salary of $45,000 a year. Since 2010, that has been the average salary among the field. The minimum amount of salary is $26,000.

Education
A wellness specialist must have a bachelor’s degree in health education or anything related. Some bachelor’s in human services or community health will due. A person needs to take several courses. But a bachelor’s will begin the trip into becoming a wellness specialist. After they can choose whether to get certified or not. An advantage of being certified is getting paid more. However, this person must have good abilities like communication skills, organization, working with people with different backgrounds and to multi task.

Reflection

I wouldn’t want to be a wellness specialist. I do admire them for educating my parents. I’ve known a wellness specialist who helps my mom and my special ed brother. I think what they personally do helps those people who lack of health knowledge.
